GRADING INFO

The SLA essay will be graded for a variety of purposes:

​

  •  50 points assessment points in Powerschool

  • Class Semester Skill Scores: Argumentative Writing, Evidence, and Language Use 

  • A score between 0-7 on the district rubric which will be saved and compared for your growth next year...

These are the semester skills we are working on in class that are tied to your grade in Powerschool. Notice how they compare to the district SLA rubric:

This score is based off of the skills attached to the rubric. You will receive a score based on your overall essay. Some of these skills are tied to your grade book and some are not; therefore your overall performance on the essay does impact your class grade. But, your SLA score (0-7) will not due to practicing the SLA assessment.
